Random House Children’s Books has acquired the Now I’m Reading! product line of books from innovativeKids, a toy and education company based in Norwalk, Ct.
The series, first published in 2001, helps children learn to read by combining books with flashcards, activity kits, and games. RHCB plan to produce new learning sets under the Now I’m Reading! name. Tom Russell, v-p and publisher of The Princeton Review and Sylvan Learning Books, will oversee the Now I’m Reading! program for RHCB.
Shari Kaufman, president of innovativeKids, said she decided to sell the Now I’m Reading! line to allow the company to focus on expanding its toy business. Despite the sale, the company will continue to publish children's books that range from board books to activity titles.
