7 Literary Murals on Bookstores and Libraries
We’ve all seen a picture of the Kansas City Public Library, yeah? That gorgeous facade never gets old. But what if I told you there are bookish murals attached to bookish places all around the world? Here I list a few:
Circle City Books and Music at Pittsboro, North Carolina (image credit: David Drake)
This mural is outside the Municipal Library in Ustroń, Poland (via). Look familiar? It should, because it’s the interior of the Trinity College Library in Dublin, Ireland, which you might also recognize from Star Wars or Harry Potter films.
This gorgeous mural is painted at La Bibilothèque de la Cité in Lyon, France. (credit image 1, image 2) It’s painted by local artists and houses books by local authors.
Loganberry Books in Cleveland, Ohio sports a lovely, colorful mural (via)
The Librairie Ptyx in Brussels is gorgeous inside and out.
Alicyn Wright, a Salt Lake City-based artist created this gorgeous mural for Pioneer Book Store in Provo, Utah.
And last (for now), but certainly not least, is the Mad Hatters Bookshop in Brisbane, which endeavors to be like Wonderland when you walk in.
Which are your favorites?
